INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team improved to 4-1 in Summit League play after posting a 7-0 win over Omaha Saturday afternoon at the West Indy Racquet Club.
IUPUI upped its record to 9-15 overall and 4-1 in Summit League play with the win over the Mavericks.
The Jags were strong in doubles play with the most impressive of the three showings coming at two doubles.
Alex Toliver and
Jose Calero posted an 8-0 victory at the two spot, while
Patrick O'Neill and
Adam Reinhart and
David Beasley and
Akshay Verma won by scores of 8-6 and 8-2, respectively.
In singles action, both
Jac Newis and Reinhart won third-set breakers by scores of 10-3 to win at the top two positions, and Toliver, Beasley, Verma and Calero each claimed straight-sets wins to finish off the shutout win.
The Jags close out their busy weekend on Sunday, April 12, when they host Summit League leader Denver. The winner will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Summit League Tournament.
