Monday's opening round was cut short due to cold and rain prior to Tuesday's resumption.
Freshman
Aneta Abrahamova earned medalist honors with a 4-over 76 and senior
Kelli Witt was second at 6-over 78. All total, IUPUI players took four of the field's top five spots and all six Jaguars earned top-10 finishes. It was Abrahamova's first career tournament win and the first by an IUPUI player since Ana Fernandez de Mesa last season. It was the Jaguars' first tournament title since winning the Butler Spring Invite in April 2013.
"Winning is always fun. Playing when it's 40 and raining isn't fun, but I would've liked to have finished yesterday and played today. I was in the minority on that, but I would've like to have played it out," IUPUI Head Coach
John Andrews said. "Aneta hit some really good shots. She definitely played better yesterday than she did today, but I thought MeKenzie Hilsmeyer, after her poor start, played really well.
"Kelli Witt might have been the only one who was consistent on both days."
Sophomore
MeKenzie Hilsmeyer finished tied for third and senior
Carolyn Kupchik made her season debut by tying for fifth at 82.
Sophomore
Erin Ingram was seventh at 85 and rookie
Sara Saetre rounded out the Jaguars' entries in eighth at 86.
"We looked like we haven't played - we did a lot of converting birdies into bogeys," Andrews said. "It's hard to be critical because we haven't been outside. I'm glad they hit some good shots.
"Everyone has a little tweaking they'd like to do now, which is why we like to play in February. We always like to get a tournament in in February because it gives us a longer time to work between now and the postseason."
IUPUI will return to action on Mar. 9-10 when the Jaguars participate in the Benbow Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla..
