Day #1 Results (.pdf)BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IUPUI men's golf team put up two solid rounds on day one of the NYX Hoosier Invitational, putting the Jaguars in the middle of the 14-team field heading into Sunday's final round. The Jaguars opened play with a first round 291 and followed up with a 296, sitting tied for sixth overall.

"I think we're better than this, I really do," IUPUI Head Coach
John Andrews said. "There was a lot of good golf in there, but we had one really bad stretch. We went from 3-over to 20-over in about an hour. That's an array of bad golf, which happens. We played really poorly at the end of round one and the very start of round two.
"There was some good golf in there, but still, I think we're better than this."
The Jaguars took advantage of nearly perfect playing conditions during round one, firing a 7-over 291. Junior

Winds picked up as the day wore on and scores subsequently elevated.
Ruiz best handled the conditions with a 1-over 72 and Rohlfing finished at 2-over 73. van de Vin (75) and sophomore
Rylan Porter (76) capped the scoring four while Segurola posted a second round 79. Rohlfing is tied for 11th among the 75-player field at 2-over 144 (71-73) and Ruiz is tied for 18th at 145 (73-72). This tournament will be the Jaguars' final tune-up leading up to The Summit League Championships to be played in Keller, Texas later this month.
"Rohlfing is doing everything in his power to go to Texas, which is what he should be doing," Andrews said. "Give him credit, he played well. He's one of the guys on the bubble, so he's making his case to play conference."
Michigan's Reed Hrynewich leads the field at 4-under 138 and Indiana's David Mills is second at 2-under 140. Play will resume with a Sunday (Apr. 13) morning shotgun start.
