INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Just four days after splitting a pair of matches in Chicago, including a 5-0 loss to No. 37 Northwestern, the Jaguars (5-16, 2-1) got back on track with a 7-0 win over conference foe Omaha (6-14, 1-4).
With the exception of the No. 2 doubles match that went to a tiebreak at 8-8, the match was a route.
Jacob Bradley and
Thomas Gans ultimately won the match with a 8-6 win in the tiebreak, and the Jaguars took the doubles point with a 3-0 record. The win improved Bradley's and Gan's record at No. 2 doubles to 9-5 on the season, the Jaguars best record at any position. Head coach
Brandon Currie made a switch at No. 3 pairing
Jason Jaruvang with freshman
Akshay Verma for the second time this season and first at No. 3 doubles, but otherwise it was the usual lineup.
The Jaguars took all six singles matches in straight sets with
Jason Jaruvang leading the way at No. 1. The win moved his record in dual matches to 9-9 this season and improved his record at No. 1 singles to 7-6.
Alex Toliver also improved his record to .500 with his team-leading 10th singles win and seventh at No. 2.
Although Manual Laboy sat out of doubles today, he got a win at No. 6 singles, his third of the season.
Now at 2-1 in Summit League play, the Jaguars will head to Denver to take on the Pioneers this Saturday (Apr. 12).
