KELLER, Texas - Junior Ana Fernandez de Mesa placed fourth of 45 players at 238 (77-81-80) and earned Newcomer of the Championship and All-Tournament Team honors as the women's golf team concluded play at The Summit League Championships at Sky Creek Ranch on Wednesday (Apr. 24).

The Jaguars matched their highest finish in school history, placing third with a team score of 974 (330-327-317) this week. North Dakota State won the team title at 949 and Kansas City was second at 960. The Jaguars final round 317 matched Kansas City for the best score on the final day, but ultimately the Jaguars had climbed into too big of a hole.

Fernandez de Mesa shot a final round 80, including a birdie on the par-4 10th to earn a top five finish.

Woods, who finishes her career as the program's all-time leader in stroke average (79.34) and rounds played (102), saved one of her best for last, shooting 3-over 75 on Wednesday. The Brownsburg, Ind.-native made four birdies against seven bogeys on the tournament's final day. Woods rebounded to finish the tournament tied for 18th at 248 (84-89-75). Fellow fifth-year senior Jordan Essman ended her tournament tied for 22nd at 251 (89-78-84), including a strong finish that saw her play her final five collegiate holes at 1-under par.

Sophomore Yuri Otsuka carded a final round 6-over 78 to finish at 252 (93-81-78) and senior Lauren Kuss finished at 255 (80-87-88).

NDSU's Amy Anderson, the country's all-time leader in tournament wins, added another to her collection by shooting 7-over 223 (76-73-74) over three days to earn Championship MVP honors. She was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Morgan Fitts (SDSU), Emily Isaacson (UMKC), Fernandez de Mesa and Emily Brink (WIU).
