INDIANAPOLIS - After eight games on the road, the IUPUI softball team returns home to the IUPUI Softball Complex April 20-21 for its last Summit League home series of the season when the Jags square off against Kansas City.

Last season when the two teams met, IUPUI took the series with wins in two of three games. With the sweep, IUPUI (17-23, 7-11 Summit) will have a chance to move up to the fifth spot in Summit League standings ahead of UMKC (14-17, 3-3 Summit).

IUPUI enters the weekend coming off a series win against Western Illinois. After dropping a rain and darkness delayed first game, the Jags came back and took the final two games of the series, 5-2 and 6-1.

Eryn Dillon continues to stay consistent in leading the starting lineup in batting average at .320. Following close behind is Ali Mosier at .301.

Cassie Vodde picked up two wins in the Jags' series against WIU on April 16 to move to 7-3 overall. Vodde currently holds an ERA of 3.44 and has notched 24 strikeouts in her 63 innings of work.

UMKC enters the weekend not having played in a week after its games against Iowa State were cancelled earlier in the week. The Kangaroos have won three of their last five games, most recently picking up two wins in a three-game series against WIU.

Emily Ott heads UMKC's offense with a .381 batting average. Ott also leads the lineup in doubles (9), slugging percentage (.560) and is second in RBI (19) behind Marlee Maples (27).

Liz Broyles, Caitlin Christopher, Brooke Parker and Katie Kelley round out the Kangaroos' lineup hitting over .300. Parker also poses a threat on the base paths, successfully stealing 10-of-12 bases.

UMKC's pitching staff holds a 6.79 ERA with Deanna Friese heading the staff at 6.07. Friese is 9-9 on the season and owns the staff's only two saves. She also owns 135 of the staff's 167 strikeouts. Cinda Ramos follows Friese with a 6.75 ERA and a 4-7 record.

Opponents are hitting an impressive .305 off of UMKC's staff, and the staff has given up 26 homeruns.

The teams are set to play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 20, with the first game beginning at 1 p.m. ET and the second game following at 3:30 p.m. ET. The final game of the series will take place on Sunday, April 21, at 12 p.m. ET.

On Saturday, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will be taking place downtown. Fans should note that New York Street will be closed on Saturday morning at 7 a.m. and will re-open around 1 p.m. Softball fans are advised to park in the Vermont St. Parking Garage off of Barnhill Drive.

Sunday's game will also serve as Senior Day as Kelsey Rupert, Nicole Natter and Jocelyn Oppenhuis will be honored prior to the start of the game.
