INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's golf team is fourth of five teams after day one of the Butler Fall Invitational after shooting 291 at Highland Country Club on Monday (Oct. 7). The tournament was reduced from 54 to 36 holes after wet grounds delayed Monday's start.
Tuesday's final round is expected to start with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Bradley leads the field after a 1-under 279 and Evansville is second at 4-over 284. Eastern Illinois (286), IUPUI (291) and host Butler (293) make up the rest of the field.
Sophomore
Austin Winings led the balanced IUPUI lineup with a first round 2-over 72 and three others came in at 3-over 73. Winings is tied for 12th among the 36-player field heading into Tuesday's final round.
Juniors
Santiago Ruiz and
Cole Adams and senior
Rob van de Vin all shot 73 to start the event. Adams was runner-up at this tournament last season with a 36-hole 141.
Junior
Jose Pablo Segurola capped the IUPUI lineup at 4-over 74.
Meanwhile, two Jaguars playing as individuals are among the top 10 at the tournament's midpoint, led by sophomore
Rylan Porter's even par 70. Porter is tied for fifth and junior
Derek Rohlfing is tied for ninth at 1-over 71.
