CARMEL, Ind. - The IUPUI men's golf team sent lineups two different directions to start this week, playing in both the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate and Dayton Fall Invitational. 

After day one, the Jaguars are 14th at Crooked Stick at 625 (321-304) and 16th at the Dayton Fall Invitational at 313. 

The Jaguars were up against a fierce field at Crooked Stick with six teams ranked among the nation's top 50. No. 6 Georgia leads the 14-team field at 9-over 585 and No. 31 Florida State is second at 588. No. 44 Purdue (589), No. 25 Arkansas (591), No. 45 Florida (604) and host Indiana (604) round out the top five. 

Junior Jose Pablo Segurola paced the Jaguars' lineup at 7-over 151 (76-75) and classmate Santiago Ruiz shot 11-over 155 (78-77). Both Ruiz and Segurola made seven birdies on Monday. Segurola started his day with a triple bogey on the par-4 16th, but immediately rebounded with a birdie on 17. He finished his first round with back-to-back birdies to close at 76. 

Freshman Austin Winings finished strong to come in at 160 (83-77) and is tied with Derek Rohlfing 160 (84-76) for 63rd place. Winings made birdies on two of his final three holes of the day. Senior Rob van de Vin capped the Jaguars' lineup at 162 (86-76). 

Arkansas' Sebastian Cappelen, ranked No. 90 nationally, leads the 75-player field at 3-under 141 and Georgia's Nicholas Reach is second at 1-under 143. The Jaguars are slated to tee off from 9:40-10:20 a.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 15) off the 10th tee. 

Meanwhile at the NCR North Course, the IUPUI team shot a first round 313 and is in 16th place at the Dayton Fall Invitational. Sophomore Rylan Porter carded a first round 4-over 74 to lead the way and both Cole Adams and Tyler Davis shot 9-over 79. 

Porter was second among the field with five birdies on Monday, accounting for nearly half of the team's total in that category. 

Sophomore Jay Holderman carded an 11-over 81 and classmate Bryce Very was disqualified at the conclusion of play. 

Cleveland State leads the field at 284 while Western Kentucky, Bradley and Northern Kentucky are all tied for second at 288. CSU's Andrew Bailey is atop the leaderboard at 3-under 67.
