2012 Fall Women's Golf Schedule
INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department and head golf coach
John Andrews announced the men's and women's fall tournament schedules on Monday (Aug. 20). Both squads will play in seven fall events, beginning in September.
On the men's side, Andrews' squad will look to defend a pair of titles in the fall and play three tournaments inside state lines. The Jaguars will open at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate (Sept. 15-16) hosted by Indiana and Kentucky before playing in the CHAMP Patriot Invitational (Sept. 29-30) at Laurel Hill in Lorton, Va..
From there, IUPUI will compete in the John Dallio Memorial (Oct. 6-7) at Ruffled Feathers in Lemont, Ill. before looking to defend the Butler Fall Invitational (Oct. 8-9) title at Highland Country Club in Indianapolis. A year ago, Andrews' senior laden squad finished first of seven teams competing in Butler's event.
IUPUI will then play split-squad events on Oct. 15-16 at both the CSU Invitational and Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational. The CSU event will be played at Harborside Golf Club in Chicago, Ill. while the Yestingsmeier, named after the longtime Ball State head coach, will be an individuals-only event at Delaware Country Club. The Jaguars will cap the fall attempting to repeat as Dayton Fall Invitational champs at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
The women's slate will open with the IU Fall Kickoff (Sept. 8-9) at the Varsity Course, followed by a trip to the CSU Cougar Classic (Sept. 17-18) at Harborside in Chicago. The Jaguars will later play in the Cardinal Classic (Sept. 22-23) and Butler Fall Invitational (Oct. 8-9) before splitting the squad for tournaments on Oct. 22-23. The Jaguars' will enter a team in the Santa Clara Colby Invitational in San Jose, Calif. while also sending a JV squad to the UD Invitational at NCR Country Club in Kettering.
The Jaguars will close the fall at the Braun Intercollegiate (Oct. 29-30) being hosted by Evansville at Quail Crossing in Boonville, Ind..
Andrews' men's squad is seeking a return trip to the NCAA Tournament behind junior
Rob van de Vin and sophomore
Santiago Ruiz. The incoming recruits are headlined by in-state preps
Tyler Davis,
Jordan Lenard and
Austin Winings.
The women's roster is fueled by the senior class of
Jordan Essman,
Lauren Kuss and
Jordan Woods and also returns sophomore
Yuri Otsuka from last year's lineup. Redshirt freshman
Maria Krempp and true freshman
Lauren Hruskovich are the team's top newcomers.
