INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI softball team hits the road for a mid-week doubleheader on Wednesday, April 25, when it travels to Charleston, Ill., to take on Eastern Illinois.

The Panthers come in with a 24-20 overall record and cap off a 10-game homestand against the Jags on Wednesday.

IUPUI comes into the doubleheader with a 15-30 overall record after dropping two games of a three-game set last weekend at Oakland.

The Jags are hitting .232 on the season, led by Nicole Checkie’s .315 average, and IUPUI is going against an EIU pitching staff that has allowed its opponents to hit .244.  In the circle, Stephanie Maday leads the Panthers with a 1.91 ERA and a team-best 170 strikeouts.

On the flip side, EIU is hitting .261 on the season led by Bailey O’Dell’s .386 average. O’Dell also leads the team with 22 RBI. The IUPUI pitching staff owns a 3.03 ERA, led by Nikki Thomas 2.83 ERA.
