ROCHESTER, Mich. – The IUPUI softball team returns to Summit League competition this weekend when it travels to Rochester, Mich., to take on Oakland for a doubleheader beginning on Friday, April 20.
IUPUI enters the weekend with a 14-28 overall record and a 5-10 conference mark, while Oakland is 6-32 overall and 3-15 in the league.
The Jaguars are coming off a mid-week, doubleheader split against Dayton, after winning Game 2 of the doubleheader, 10-5.
IUPUI is 3-2 in its last five games and it has outscored its opponents 15-9 in those contests. The Jags are hitting .278 as a team compared to just .195 for their opponents. Leading the way offensively have been Nicole Checkie and
Lindsey Richards, who are hitting .438 and .417, respectively, with three RBI a piece.

Nikki Thomas have combined to toss 32.0 innings worth of work and the trio has given up five earned runs, struck out 18 and owns a cumulative ERA of 1.09.
The Golden Grizzlies are hitting .239 as a team and are led in the batter's box by Erika Polidori's .386 average. Polidori leads the team with six home runs and she is one of three players with double-digit RBI.
As a staff, Oakland owns a 5.91 ERA.Â
