BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Coming off a 5-2 win over South Dakota State on Friday, the IUPUI men’s tennis team traveled down to Bloomington, Ind., to take on the Indiana Hoosiers, who were playing their fifth match in three days. However, the No. 21 Hoosiers swept all three doubles matches and never looked back as they defeated the Jaguars, 7-0, Sunday evening.
The loss dropped IUPUI’s record to 7-13 on the season.
In doubles, IU cruised to wins at the No. 3 and No. 1 spots to earn the first point, but
Joel Modesitt and
Nick Volz battled at the No. 2 position only to fall short by a break, 8-6.
In singles play, IUPUI could not overcome a deep Hoosiers lineup as all six matches were won by Indiana in straight sets.
The Jags are back in action on Saturday, March 31, when they head across town to Butler to face to Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
