Round #1 Standings (.pdf)

LEMONT, Ill. - The IUPUI men's golf team started well, but struggled later in the day as the Jaguars sit in 14th place through one round of the John Dallio Memorial at Ruffled Feathers, hosted by DePaul.

The 15-team field began round two, but play was suspended due to darkness after the morning was delayed due to frost. Marqette and Northern Iowa both shot 306 in the opening round while Green Bay and Evansville both fired 307. All total, nine teams were within six strokes of the lead after 18 holes.

IUPUI shot a first round 323, despite sitting as high as third-place in the opening round.

All five Jaguars started well, but faltered late in round one. Freshman Austin Winings strung together seven straight pars to start the day before recording bogeys on five out of six holes to eventually finish at 6-over 78. The rookie is tied for 26th through 18 holes.

Behind him, junior Rob van de Vin had a pair of early birdies, but limped home including a stretch of two double bogeys and two bogeys on the back nine to close at 9-over 81. Both Santiago Ruiz and Matt Bruce came in at 82 and freshman Tyler Davis shot an 83 in his collegiate debut.

Bruce was 1-under through five holes, but quickly gave back some shots after the turn. The senior was one of the few players to finish his second round, shooting 76 in his second 18 holes.

Play is expected to resume with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start, although frost is expected again on Sunday. Sunday's play will begin with the conclusion of round two, followed by the third and final round.
