INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI softball team will return home for the first time in 15 days to take on in-state rival Purdue. The doubleheader is set to begin at 4 PM. IUPUI (10-21, 5-7 Summit) comes in to the game losers of six consecutive games.
Most recently, the Jaguars dropped a three-game series at North Dakota State. IUPUI lost game one 7-0, game two 4-1 and the finale 3-1.
Angela Bartucci led a struggling Jaguars offense with four hits over the weekend.
Purdue (21-8, 2-0 Big Ten)
The Boilermakers are fresh off a sweep of Big Ten rival Iowa this past weekend.
Offense
Andie Varsho has a team-high .467 average. Her 19 RBI are second to team leader Shelby Krammer. Krammer sports a .370 average. The only other Boilermaker to be hitting over .400 is Molly Garst (.419).
Purdue has outscored its opponents 151-74 this season. It also has eight hitters batting over .280.
Pitching
Suzie Rzegocki gets the majority of the starts for the Boilermakers. She is 18-7 with a 1.82 earned run average. She has fanned 112 in 146.1 innings pitched.
