INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI softball team returns to Summit League action with a three-game series against South Dakota State this weekend.

A doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 3 PM on Saturday with the series finale slated for noon on Sunday.

The Jaguars (10-25, 5-7) have lost ten straight games.

Freshman Brandi Lawson's .299 batting average is tops on IUPUI. Chelsie Hale's seven home runs is a team-high. Alicia Brewer has six roundtrippers.

Junior Samantha Bumbaugh pitched well, but the offense was stifled in the team's 1-0 loss to Indiana State on Wednesday.

South Dakota State (8-30, 5-7 Summit)

The Jackrabbits are fresh off a winless road trip in Wisconsin. South Dakota State dropped a doubleheader to Wisconsin on Wednesday and two more to the Phoenix of Green Bay on Thursday.

Offense

Ashley Durazo and Krista Honken lead the Jackrabbits at the plate. Durazo has driven in a team-high 16 runs while Honken has knocked in 14.

Devon Reick is hitting .322, tops on the South Dakota State squad.

Pam Nicholson has swiped 12 bases thus far.

Pitching

Nicholson and Kori Seidlitz have combined to make 37 of 38 starts this season. Nicholson's 4.84 earned run average is tops for the Jackrabbits. Seidlitz has struggled with a 6.10 ERA.
