BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Freshman Danielle Haefele earned a singles and a doubles win as the IUPUI women's tennis team took part in the BGSU Invitational over the weekend at Keefe Courts and Bowling Green High School. Host BGSU took five singles flight crowns and two doubles titles over the weekend.

Playing in Flight #6, Haefele knocked off her opening round opponent, Daniell Silva (Youngstown State) to move on to the semifinals. However, the Venice, Fla.-native dropped her next two matches in straight sets to finish fourth in her flight.

Other singles wins came from redshirt freshman Vanessa Whyte in the Flight #3 and sophomore Jesika Bays in the Flight #7.

Haefele teamed with Shelby Hullett to earn a doubles victory over a duo from Youngstown State in the Flight #3 and junior Alisha Cummings and Bays opened the Doubles Flight #4 with an 8-5 win over a team from Xavier.

IUPUI will return to action on Oct. 1-2 when the Jaguars take part in the IPFW Invitational.
