INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indianapolis women's tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Northern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon at the West Indy Racquet Club.
The Jaguars secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The tandem of
Kally Kadzinski and
Elle Kotre opened the day with a 6-3 victory, while
Chloe Bailey and
Grace Lampman clinched the point with a 7-5 decision.
In singles play, IU Indy picked up three key wins to seal the match. Kadzinski led the way at No. 1 singles with a straight-sets win (6-4, 6-3), while Bailey battled back after dropping the opening set to earn a three-set victory at No. 4 (5-7, 6-2, 6-2) to clinch the match victory.
Bella Duncan also added the No. 6 singles point with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph.
Northern Kentucky claimed wins at Nos. 2, 3 and 5 singles, but the Jaguars' depth proved to be the difference in the tightly contested match.
IU Indy now sits at 5-3 overall with a 1-0 mark in conference play. They will next host Oakland on Friday, April 3.
