KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After falling in game one of a doubleheader at UMKC on Friday afternoon, the IUPUI softball team rode the arm and bat of junior Amy Raker to a 7-0 victory to claim a split and the team's first Summit League win of the season. Raker went 2-for-3 with three RBIs in the win and tossed her second career complete game victory in the circle.

UMKC won the opener by an 8-2 score.

In game one, UMKC (8-17, 3-3 Summit) built an early 4-0 lead before the Jaguars' bats came to life in the fourth inning. Freshman Kelsey Rupert led off with an infield hit and advanced to second when senior Mia Ettl drew a free pass. Sophomore Leah Prewitt followed by clubbing a double to center, plating the Jaguars' first run. A defensive error allowed the second run to score, but UMKC starter Anna Sokolik (4-3) escaped further damage by getting back-to-back popouts to short and a ground out to first to end the inning.

Aside from the fourth, Sokolik cruised through the IUPUI (4-14, 1-5) batting order, including retiring the final 12 Jaguars of the game in order. She struck out three and walked just one in the complete game victory. Offensively, Betsy Hanley was 3-for-4 with four RBIs that included a three-run shot in the bottom of the first inning.

Freshman Jocelyn Oppenhuis (1-4) was hung with the loss, giving up four runs (three earned) before leaving in the second.

Game two was all about Raker as the junior righty took a no-hitter into the fourth inning before allowing an infield hit.

The Jaguars built a 3-0 lead in the top half of the fourth, keyed by Chelsie Hale's two-run single to left. In the fifth, IUPUI plated three more runs as Prewitt smoked a run scoring double and Raker later connected for a two-run single. Raker added some insurance in the seventh when she singled home senior Alicia Hayes, who had come on to run for Prewitt who had reached with a one-out single.

Prewitt went 3-for-4 from the cleanup spot and freshman Alicia Garrison was 2-for-4 in the win.

Raker (3-1) struck out three and scattered five singles in the win.

The Jaguars will now return home to host Butler on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the IUPUI Softball Complex.
