MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - After dropping a 7-0 decision to Marquette on Saturday, the IUPUI men's tennis team narrowly picked up their first victory of the spring season on Sunday at the Helfaer Tennis Center on the campus of Marquette, falling 4-3 to Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sunday afternoon.  Both Nick Volz and Joel Modesitt picked up singles wins against UWGB.

On Saturday, Daniel Klingenberg narrowly lost at No. 2 singles, falling 3-6, 6-2, 10-3.  The sophomore suffered a similar fate on Sunday, falling by a break in the first set of his match at No. 2 and by two breaks in the second set, dropping a 5-7, 4-6 decision.

Volz picked up his first career win on Sunday, rallying for a three-set win at No. 4 singles; the freshman came back against UWGB's Josh Oothoudt, 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 to give the Jaguars their first singles point of the match.

Modesitt gave the Jaguars their third point of the match with his second singles win of the season, winning at No. 6 in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.

Volz and Modesitt worked to give IUPUI the doubles point earlier in the match, as Volz teamed with Deon Shafer to win a hard-earned 8-6 match.  Modesitt and Taylor Tunis also won by a break, taking an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.

The Jaguars will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 6, when they will have a doubleheader in Indianapolis.  IUPUI will meet Bradley at 10 a.m. from the Butler Bubble before taking on Valparaiso at the Indianapolis Tennis Center at 6:30 p.m..
