IU Indy Athletics

Bren Vasalakis was named the head coach of the IU Indy Men's Tennis program in July of 2019. 

Vasalakis spent six years as an assistant with IU Indy and was named Associate Head Coach for the 2018-19 season before being promoted to the head position.

As associate head coach, Vasalakis helped freshman Alex Jochim earned Horizon League Freshman of the Year and First Team All-League honors as well as coaching Sean Bailey to Second Team All-League honors. The Jaguars also made the Horizon League Semifinals in 2019.

Vasalakis has coached eight other All-League performers when IUPUI was a part of the Summit League and in his first season as an assistant coach, helped guided the Jags to a third-straight appearance in the Summit League Championship match.

Prior to joining the men's tennis staff, Vasalakis was a four-year letterwinner and three-year captain for the Jags and participated in the 2011 conference title match in both singles and doubles.

Off the court, Vasalakis was a three-time Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence honoree and earned a spot on the IUPUI Academic Advisor's List seven times. He graduated from IUPUI in 2012 with a degree in kinesiology.
