FORT WAYNE, Ind. - IUPUI got two hits apiece from Mia Ettl and Alicia Hayes, but was unable to solve IPFW starter Courtney Cronin, who tossed a five-hit shutout in IPFW's 8-0 five-inning win on Saturday. With the win, IPFW claimed a three-game series sweep from the Jaguars, holding the IUPUI offense to just two runs in three games.

IPFW (10-10, 5-3 Summit) roughed up Lauren Popov and Amy Raker for 10 hits in just four innings including a three-run homer from Rachel Staschuk in the bottom of the fourth inning.

IUPUI (3-29, 1-8 Summit) threatened in the top of the first when Ettl led off the game with a single and advanced to second on Jessica Huey's sacrifice bunt. Hayes followed with a single to center and moved to second when the throw from the outfield came in to the plate. However, IUPUI was unable to push home a run as Cronin (6-2) induced a foul out and ground out to end the inning.

The Mastodons tallied a single run in the bottom of the first off Popov (0-6) and three more in the third. The hosts put the game away with a four-run fourth, fueled by Staschuk's second homer of the season.

Staschuk went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored while Kristina Karpun was 3-for-3 with two RBI. Hayes was 2-for-2 in her first multi-hit game of the year, extending her hitting streak to seven straight games. Ettl was 2-for-3 to up her batting average to .345 on the year.

Popov struck out one in the loss while Cronin whiffed five in the victory.

IUPUI returns to action on Tuesday, March 31 when the Jaguars head up Highway 31 to take on Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m.
