INDIANAPOLIS -- After dropping two tough road games, the IUPUI women's basketball team will look for a boost from their home crowd in their home opener against Northern Illinois.  Tip-off between the Jaguars and Huskies from The Jungle is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

IUPUI (0-2) struggled in its first two games of the season, falling at Akron and at Indiana on Friday and Sunday, respectively.  However, the Jaguars have been working nine newcomers into the lineup and have been without the services of Preseason First Team All-Summit selection Julia Whitted due to injury.

In Whitted's absence, freshman Kerah Nelson and junior Jessica Huffman have taken on the primary scoring responsibilities for the Jaguars.  Nelson had a season-high 21 points on Sunday, hitting 6-of-9 field goals, while Huffman had 14 at Akron.

Northern Illinois (1-1) was impressive in their 86-73 win over Bradley to tip-off the 2009-10 season, but followed it up with a 50-48 loss to Summit League member Western Illinois on Tuesday evening.  The Huskies are led by Mauvolyene Adams and Ebony Ellis, both of whom are averaging double-doubles in the young season.

The Jaguars have won three straight meetings with the Huskies to take a 3-1 series lead, including a 72-58 win at the Convocation Center in DeKalb, Ill., last year.  IUPUI also defeated NIU in The Jungle, 58-53, on Dec. 29, 2007.

Fans can follow the game in a variety of ways.  IUPUI Live! will have streaming video of the game, with Scott Taylor (play-by-play) and Indiana Fever standout Tully Bevilaqua (color) on the call; IUPUIJags.com will have the audio feed of the call as well.  Both are available by clicking on the above links.
