Game 1 I Game 2

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Freshman Amy Raker tossed a complete game three-hitter and the Jaguars saw four of their seven hits go for extra bases as IUPUI rolled past Oakland 4-0 on Friday afternoon. The game had a 1:52 rain delay in the middle of the third inning while game two of the doubleheader was halted after just three innings of play.

Game #1 - IUPUI 4, Oakland 0
The opener saw Raker (4-6) toss the best game of her brief college career as she struck out four and scattered just three singles in the victory.

The IUPUI (10-26, 5-14 Summit) got all the offense it would need in the top of the first inning as Raker drew a two-out walk and senior Jenna Crockett followed with her team best fifth homer of the season. Oakland (14-27, 5-12) loaded the bases in the bottom half thanks to a pair of walks and a hit batter, but was unable to push across a run.

In the third inning, Raker drilled a one-out double and later scored on Jenny Boyts' single down the right field line. That's when the rains came, forcing a nearly two hour delay before play resumed around 6:00 p.m.. The Jags pushed home another run when Cassie Harvey singled home Lea Corcoran, who was brought on as a pinch runner.

Raker retired 11 of the final 12 batters of the game to claim the victory while OU's Jessica Granger was saddled with the loss. Granger struck out nine but yielded all four runs (three earned) in defeat.

Offensively, Harvey was 2-for-3 at the plate which included her first triple of the season. Raker went 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Game #2 - IUPUI 1, Oakland 0 (thru 3 innings)
With rain still in the area, game two was suspended after three innings with the Jags out to a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Jessica McGown tossed three scoreless innings and struck out five batters.

IUPUI pushed across an unearned run in the top of the third inning against OU starter Alison Tansel.

Sophomore Mia Ettl reached on a single up the middle and Raker later singled through the right side. Oakland rightfielder Angela Cicchini committed a throwing error on the play, allowing Ettl to score and Raker to wheel into second base.

Tansel ended the threat by getting Crockett to ground out.

Raker was 2-for-2 when play was suspended. Play is set to resume on Saturday at noon.
