IUPUI junior cross country runner Damon Pruett has been named the department's Male Athlete of the Month for October 2015. Pruett capped an incredible month with a First Team All-Summit League effort while helping the Jaguars to their second straight league title. 

Pruett opened the month with a 5-mile time of 24:25.8 at the Notre Dame Invitational, placing 33rd overall to later earn Summit League Athlete of the Week honors. Two weeks later, he ran a school record 8K time of 24:21.5 at Pre-Nationals as the Jaguars' top finisher at that meet. 

He capped the month by placing seventh at The Summit League Championships, posting a time of 25:01.17 as the Jaguars' No. 3 finisher. He helped IUPUI edge host South Dakota State by four points to gain the team title for the second straight year.
