IUPUI senior volleyball standout Kaitlyn Hickey has been named the department's Female Athlete of the Month for October 2015. Hickey helped the Jaguars to 7-2 record during the month, claiming the top spot in The Summit League standings.
Hickey had a team-high 3.61 kills/set for the month, while hitting an impressive .248 overall. She also averaged 3.24 digs/set, continuing to measure as one of the nation's most versatile players. During the month, she became the first player in Summit League history to surpass 1,500 kills and 1,500 digs for her career and is the lone active player in the country to have achieved those marks.
She buried 19 kills and hit .405 at South Dakota on Oct. 16 and had 18 kills and 14 digs in a come-from-behind victory at Fort Wayne on Oct. 24, including her 1,500th career dig coming that night. She capped the month with 17 kills and a .452 hitting night at South Dakota State on Oct. 30.
