ALEXANDRIA, Ky. - The IU Indianapolis women's track and field squad will return to action on Saturday (Apr. 11) when they participate in the Norse Track Invitational at the Mustang Athletic Complex at Bishop Brossart High School. Events are slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Head coach
Antonio McDaniel's squad is expected to have entries in 12 different events, including nine entrants in the mile early in the day.
Skyler Sichting will look to build on her best shot put effort as she owns a top throw of 9.03m (29' 7.5''). Sichting will also participate in the 100m hurdles alongside
Elisa Algozine and
Journey Howard. Howard holds a personal best time of 14.83 seconds, less than one-tenth of a second off the school record.
Skylar Ferry will be the lone entry in the 400m event with a personal best time of 59.79 seconds while
Wini Barnett and
Jenna Twedt will compete in the 800m event. Barnett owns a personal best time of 2:16.25 and a season best time of 2:17.67. Howard will double back in the 400m hurdles where she holds a personal best time of 1:06.19.
Freshman
Sarah Madi-Bouabre will participate in the 200m dash where she ran 25.63 seconds earlier this season. Freshman
Riley Flynn will run her first career 5K on the outdoor track while senior
Carina Alanis looks to shed time off her personal best effort of 18:34.96. Fellow senior
Jada-Marie Davis will compete in the high jump and Algozine is entered in her first career javelin throw.
The Jags are also slated to participate in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays on Saturday.
