ALEXANDRIA, Ky. - The IU Indianapolis women's track and field team broke school records in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays on Saturday (Apr. 11) as the Jaguars competed at Northern Kentucky's Norse Track Invitational at the Mustang Athletic Complex at Bishop Brossart High School. The group of
Sophia Palmer,
Jahzara McAlister,
Paige Schulte and
Sarah Madi-Bouabre broke the 4x100 record at the start of the meet, clocking a time of 47.42 seconds to shave one-tenth of a second off the prior best.
Later in the meet, Schulte, Palmer,
Skylar Ferry and McAlister spun a new school record in the 4x400, crossing at 3:55.09 to take nearly a full second off the prior best.
The day was filled with highlights as
Wini Barnett and
Jenna Twedt took the top two spots in the 800m event with the former crossing at 2:16.63 for the fastest time by a Jaguar this season. Twedt crossed in a personal best time of 2:19.35, taking three seconds off her prior best.
"We started super slow as a whole, so I saw my time at the 4 and got scared, so I sped up," Barnett said. "Then I heard my teammates cheering for Jenna right behind me and knew we were going 1-2 after starting in the back."
Moments earlier, Ferry earned a runner-up finish in the 400m event with a personal best time of 59.22, taking a half second off her prior best.
In the mile, senior
