TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - IU Indianapolis women's track sophomore
Ella Colclesser earned an individual win in the 3,000m steeplechase as the Jaguars opened competition in the two-day Pacesetter Sports Invitational on Friday night (Apr. 3). Colclesser topped the 10-runner field, competing primarily against runners from across the state.
Colclesser spun a winning time of 11:26.67, winning the race by 18 seconds and shaving 10 seconds off her personal best effort.
"I'm very happy with this year's steeple debut," Colclesser said. "There's still a lot to work on, but overall, I'm very happy with that!"
Later in the evening, five Jaguars competed in the 5,000m event, paced by freshman
Kaylynn Bedel's time of 19:11.29. Behind her, classmate
Emily Bruns turned in a time of 19:43.88 and
AnnMarie Gibson finished at 19:50.80. Senior
Julynne Spidell ran a time of 20:02.55 and rookie
Carson Parks finished at 20:43.65.
The Jaguars will continue the two-day meet on Saturday (Apr. 4),
