RALEIGH, N.C. - Two members of the IU Indianapolis women's track team will head to this weekend's Raleigh Relays, chasing early season fast times at the start of the outdoor season. Senior
Julie Smith will run the 10,000m event on Friday night (Mar. 27) before classmate
Wini Barnett compete in the 800m event on Saturday (Mar. 28).
For Smith, it marks her first career 10,000m race while Barnett looks to chip away at her personal best time of 2:16.25 in the 800. Raleigh has traditionally been the site of quick times during the outdoor season, boasting competition from all over the U.S.
Smith comes in ranked No. 9 on the program's all-time list in the 5K with a personal best time of 17:45.72 while Barnett ranks No. 8 on the program's all-time list in the 800.
A full recap and results from each day's events will be posted to IUIndyJags.com immediately afterwards.
