SAVANNAH, Ga. - As he's done throughout the season, junior
Titus Boswell continued to lead the way for the IU Indianapolis men's golf team on day one of The Savannah Intercollegiate at The Club at Savannah Harbors on Saturday (Feb. 21). Boswell shot an opening round, 2-under 70 to lead the Jags to a morning round 300, sitting eighth among the 18-team field.
However, the Jaguars slid back to tied for 14th when round two was halted due to darkness.
Both
Preston Broce and
Jack Scudder chimed in at 4-over 76 in round one while
Brady Schier was countable at 6-over 78. Senior
Noah Kirsch shot 8-over 80 and freshman
Noah Parsetich closed at 5-over 77 while playing as an individual.
Boswell had it to 4-under after rattling off three straight birdies before giving back strokes with bogeys on No. 12 and No. 15 to close his round. Scudder had three opening round birdies while Broce and Schier had two apiece.
Boswell was at 1-over with two holes remaining in round two while Scudder had four birdies and sat at 3-over. Both Kirsch and Broce were in line to be countable at 4-over and 6-over, respectively.
Boswell heads into Sunday's finale in fifth-place at 1-under for the tournament.
