ROCHESTER, Mich. - IU Indianapolis junior men's golf
Titus Boswell earned his first top-10 finish of the season, finishing seventh among 72-players at this weekend's Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate. Boswell finished at 1-over 214 (70-72-72) for his fifth career top-10 finish. Collectively, the Jaguars placed ninth among the 12-team field at 895 (300-299-296).
The Jaguars closed with their best round of the tournament, firing 296 on Sunday. Boswell led the way at 1-over 72 and both
Keaton Parmley and
Brady Schier chimed in with rounds of 2-over 73. The fourth score came from freshman
Jack Scudder, who shot 7-over 78 and
Noah Kirsch posted 9-over 80.
Both Boswell and Parmley were even at the turn as the former made seven pars on his opening nine and the latter went birdie-bogey-birdie into the turn. Schier got to even through 14 after back-to-back birdies before giving back strokes on his 16th and 18th holes of the round.
Parmley finished tied for 33rd at 224 (76-75-73) and Schier finished tied for 50th at 229 (80-76-73).
Butler won the team title at 857, clearing second-place Toledo by 11 shots. Green Bay's Mason Haupt and Notre Dame's Mike Qiu finished tied for medalist honors at 4-under 209.
The Jaguars will return to action on Sept. 20-21 when they participate in Ball State's Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie.
