INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indianapolis Athletics Department and Director of Men's Cross Country and Track & Field
Justin Roeder announced the signings of 11 student-athletes to join the program ahead of the 2025-2026 season. All 11 will be true freshmen and begin competition this fall.
Below is a rundown of the 11 new additions, listed alphabetically.
Evan Farmer – Indianapolis, Ind. / Franklin Central HS
-Advanced to the IHSAA State Championships in cross country all four seasons, finishing as high as 53
rd his senior year
-Won the Mt. Vernon Sectional title in cross country his senior season
-Qualified for the IHSAA State Championships in track as a senior in the 1,600m and 4x800 relay
-Was sectional champ and Marion County and Regional runner-up in the 1,600m event as a senior
-Finished his high school career with personal best time of 15:30.80 (5K XC), 4:18.25 (1,600m) and 9:17.27 (3,200m).
Gavin Good – Columbia City, Ind. / Columbia City HS
-Qualified for the IHSAA State Cross Country Championships his final two years, placing 60
th as a senior
-Was Northeast Eight Conference champion in the 1,600m and 3,200m events his senior season while also winning the FW North Side title in the 1,600m event
-Helped Columbia City to an IHSAA State Championship berth in the 4x800 relay, placing 24th
-Finished his high school career with personal best time of 4:19 (1,600m) and 15:40.30 (5K XC)
Jack Holden – Bloomington, Ind. / Bloomington North HS
-Was an All-American in the 4x800 relay in 2024
-Reached the IHSAA State Cross Country Championships his final three seasons, finishing as high as 50
th his senior season
-Helped Bloomington North to IHSAA state titles in cross country and track
-Two-time All-Conference performer in cross country
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 4:14.11 (1,600m) and 9:16.53 (3,200m)
Hayden Kemple – Frankfort, Ind. / Clinton Prairie HS
-Qualified for the IHSAA State Cross Country Championships each of his final three seasons, finishing as high as 45
th his junior year
-Two-time Logansport Sectional Champion in cross country and Hoosier Heartland Conference champ his senior year
-Finished 16
th at the IHSAA State Track and Field Championships in the 3,200m event as a senior
-Two-time Lafayette Jeff Sectional champion in the 3,200m event
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 15:11.70 (5K XC) and 9:12.84 (3,200m)
Liam Lilly – LaPorte, Ind. / LaPorte HS
-Reached the IHSAA State Cross Country Championships each of his final three seasons, finishing as high as 80th
-Advanced to the IHSAA State Track & Field Championships in the 400m and 800m events, placing 20
th in the 800; helped LaPorte finish 9
th at state in the 4x400 relay
-Helped LaPorte capture Duneland Athletic Conference titles in both the 4x400 and 4x800 relay
-Earned three individual wins in the 800m event his senior year, including the Portage Sectional title
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 16:05.7 (5K XC), 54.16 (400m) and 1:55.34 (800m)
Evan McMahon – Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead HS
-Finished 22
nd at the 2024 IHSAA State Cross Country Championships, earning a spot on the Indiana All-Star Team
-Earned sectional titles in both the 1,600m and 3,200m events his junior season
-Earned wins in both the 3,200m and 4x800 relay on the indoor track his senior year as part of the Hoosier State Relays qualifying series
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 15:35.34 (5K XC)
Eli Oetken – Louisville, Ky. / Trinity HS
-Was runner-up at the KHSAA State Cross Country 3A Championships his senior year after placing fifth as a junior
-Was a two-time Region 4 champion in cross country and runner-up his senior year
-Finished fourth at the KHSAA State Championships in both the 1,600m and 3,200m events
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 15:05.74 (5K XC), 4:10.79 (1,600m) and 9:10.50 (3,200m)
Isaac Riggs – Bardstown, Ky. / Bethlehem HS
-Earned the KHSAA 1A State Championship in the 3,200m event his senior year
-Was a four-time All-State performer in cross country, including winning Region three times
-Was an eight-time Region champion in track and two-time conference champion
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 4:17.23 (1,600m) and 15:38.4 (5K XC)
Zach Risner – Avon, Ind. / Avon HS
-Qualified for the IHSAA State Cross Country Championships his final two seasons, placing 30
th as a junior and 37
th as a senior
-Helped Avon to a spot in the IHSAA State Track and Field Championships in the 4x800 relay his senior season
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 15:34.1 (5K XC), 4:24.99 (1,600m) and 9:24.94 (3,200m)
Caleb Webb – Bloomington, Ind. / Bloomington North HS
-Placed 26
th at the IHSAA State Championships in cross country and was a three-time All-Conference performer in cross country
-Helped Bloomington North to IHSAA state titles in cross country and track
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 15:25.17 (5K XC) and 9:16.56 (3,200m)
Michael Zegarski – Maineville, Ohio / Little Miami HS
-Placed 17
th at the OHSAA D1 State Cross Country Championships as a senior with a personal best time of 15:29.4
-Opened his senior year with a runner-up finish at the OHSAA Early Bird Invitational
-Finished 10
th overall at the OATCCC D1 Indoor Championships in the 1,600m event his senior year
-Finished his high school career with personal best times of 15:14.30 (5K XC), 4:21.55 (1,600m) and 9:14.10 (3,200m)
