INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy Athletics Department announced the addition of Katie Kollar to the women's basketball staff as Director of Operations. Kollar brings 13 years of experience leading and developing competitive NCAA Division III programs.

"We're excited to welcome Katie Kollar as our new Director of Basketball Operations," said head coach Kate Bruce. "Katie brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the game, having served in various roles across the collegiate basketball landscape. Her organization, energy, and commitment to excellence will be a tremendous asset to our program. We're looking forward to the impact she'll make both behind the scenes and in building strong relationships within our team. Welcome to the family, Katie!"

Kollar comes to IU Indy after serving as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Macalester College, where she built the program into a competitive conference contender. In her third year at Macalester in 2021-22, Kollar led the Scots to their most conference wins since the 2011-12 season and during the 2024-2025 campaign compiled the most victories since 2011. A proven recruiter and mentor, Kollar has coached multiple all-conference athletes, academic honorees, and regional award winners, while also fostering a team culture that emphasizes academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement.

At SUNY Cobleskill, Kollar took a Fighting Tigers' team that had won just two games the year before and quickly built a solid program. After a nine-win campaign in her first year, Kollar led SUNY Cobleskill to a 14-12 record in 2016-17, the program's first winning season in five years. That year, the team also earned a berth in the ECAC Tournament for the first time since 2008. Kollar also recruited and coached a student-athlete who scored her 1,000th career point during her junior year, just the second Fighting Tiger to achieve the milestone as a junior. Overall, SUNY Cobleskill was 46-55 under Kollar.

Prior to her time at SUNY Cobleskill, Kollar was an assistant coach at Springfield (Mass.) College for two years. While at Springfield, she served as a compliance intern at American International College, an NCAA Division II institution in Springfield. Kollar also spent one year as an assistant coach at Averett University in Danville, Va.

A native of Johnstown, N.Y., Kollar graduated from Nazareth in 2012 with a degree in business administration. She earned her Master of Education degree in athletic administration from Springfield College in 2015.
