FIVE SOFTBALL STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED CSC ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

Molly Kable, Kendal Calvert, Paige McPhearson, Morgan Gilbert and Alexa Holman represent the IU Indy softball team on the All-District list

INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy softball team saw five of their student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Molly Kable, Kendal Calvert, Paige McPhearson, Morgan Gilbert and Alexa Holman were all named to the list. Kable will also advance to the All-America ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
 
The 2025 Academic All-District softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.
 
Junior Molly Kable caps off an outstanding first season with the Jags with the CSC Academic All-District honor. Kable was named NFCA Great Lakes All-Region Third Team after leading the Horizon League in batting average. She finished the regular season with a .427 batting average with a league-best .491 on base percentage. Kable also totaled 46 RBI which ranks third all-time for a single season in program history. She started and played in all 49 games for the Jaguars, mostly at third base. On top of her 46 RBI she also totaled nine home runs, one triple and 14 doubles.
 
During the postseason, she totaled three hits and two RBI, ending the season on a 15-game win streak. Kable was also named Horizon League Player of the Week on March 18 and April 5. Kable maintains a 3.86 GPA in Psychology.
 
Senior Kendal Calvert earned the honor after maintaining a 3.88 GPA in Health Sciences. She was second on the team in batting average at .351 in 44 games. She totaled three doubles, one triple, 34 runs, six RBI and 21 stolen bases in 43 starts. Calvert was also named to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team as well as the Horizon League All-Academic Team. She earned a spot on the Horizon League Honor Roll and IU Indy Academic Advisor's Lists.
 
Morgan Gilbert, a graduate student from Greenville, Ohio also earned the award after posting a 3.75 graduate GPA in Math Education. She played and started in 48 games, recording a .335 batting average and totaled seven doubles, three triples, 22 RBI, 40 runs and 25 stolen bases. She was named Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year following the regular season for her outstanding defense at shortstop for the Jags. Gilbert was also named to the Horizon League Honor Roll and the IU Indy Academic Advisor's Lists.
 
Sophomore Paige McPhearson was named to the CSC Academic All-District team after maintaining a 3.98 GPA in Biomedical Engineering. McPhearson played in 45 games for the Jags, making 43 starts with a .312 batting average. She totaled 25 runs, two doubles, one triple and 17 RBI. McPhearson was also named to the Horizon League Honor Roll and the IU Indy Academic Advisor's List.

Junior Alexa Holman rounds out the group for the IU Indy softball team on the Academic All-District team. She maintained a 3.63 GPA in Psychology to earn the honor. Holman posted a 5.98 ERA in 25 appearances with a team-high 50 strikeouts. She also recorded a .292 batting average with 13 RBI. Holman was named to the Horizon League Honor Roll and the IU Indy Academic Advisor's Lists.
