LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Six members of the IU Indianapolis men's track team posted new personal bests as an abbreviated group of Jaguars headed south to compete in this weekend's Jim Freeman / Clark Wood Invitational at the University of Louisville. Jaguars competed in just three events, running the 1,500m event, 3,000m steeplechase and 5,000m race on Saturday (Apr. 26).
In the 1,500m event, freshmen
Zane Schorr and
Alec Moor both took to the track with the former posting a personal best time of 4:10.11. The latter crossed at 4:19.24, also representing a personal best.
In the 3K steeple,
Noah Price led the way with a personal best time of 9:31.96, placing fifth overall.
Nolan King was tenth in a personal best time of 9:38.01 and freshman
Alec Hueftle was next in line at 9:42.00.
Carter Schorr rounded out the entries in a time of 10:07.28.
In the 5,000m event,
Matt Mitsch clocked a personal best time of 15:07.06 and rookie
Ty Perez spun a time of 15:31.47 to earn a personal record. Fellow freshman
Cameron Smith crossed at 16:03.91 to round out the team entries.
The Jaguars aren't slated to compete again until the Horizon League Outdoor Championships in Youngstown, Ohio, on May 9-11.
