INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indy men's tennis team welcomes the Illinois State Redbirds and Lipscomb Bison to the West Indy Racquet Club for back-to-back matches on Friday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 8. The men's team will begin play at 12:00 PM on Friday and 2:00 PM Saturday.
 
IU Indy enters the weekend with a 2-3 overall record. The Jags are looking to bounce back this week after splitting this past weekend's results, 1-1. The men's team secured a win over Eastern Illinois on Friday then fell to Dayton on Sunday.
 
The partnership of Nate Day and Konner Gunwall received this week's Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week after going undefeated on the weekend in No. 1 doubles. This moves their doubles record up to 2-2 on the year.
 
IU Indy dominated in singles play going 5-1 against the Panthers. They also secured the doubles point earning the Jags the victory over Eastern Illinois with a final score of 6-1.
 
Sunday was a different story for the Jags as they came up short in singles play against Dayton. They started the match on a high note with the doubles point, taking two out of three matches but it wasn't enough as the Flyers came out on top with a final score of 6-1.  
 
The Jags' opening match of the weekend against Illinois State on Friday, Feb. 7 is set for a 12:00 PM first serve. The Redbirds are 3-3 to start the season.
 
IU Indy will then close out the weekend against Lipscomb on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2:00 PM. The Bison enter the weekend with a 3-3 overall record.
