INDIANAPOLIS – IU Indy women's basketball redshirt freshman guard/forward Destini Craig from Fort Wayne, Indiana, has been awarded this week's 92c Athlete of the Week after she and the Jaguars dominated in a 94–58 win over Anderson University.
Craig totaled 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting, including one three-pointer. She made an impact defensively as well, collecting three steals and grabbing five rebounds to help control the glass.
Through seven games, Craig is averaging 18.3 minutes per game. She is currently putting up 7.9 points per game on .463 shooting, which ranks third on the team. She is fifth in rebounds with an average of 3.7 per game and ranks fourth on the team in steals with 11. Craig also sits inside the top 15 in the Horizon League in steals, averaging 1.6 per game.
This is Craig's first 92c Athlete of the Week honor and the basketball team's second recognition this season. Craig and the rest of the Jaguars will host the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons on Wednesday (Dec. 3) at 6:30 PM inside the Jungle. Tickets will be available online or at the door, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
