INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy swim and dive team collected three of the four Horizon League weekly awards with
Nathan Rariden,
Emmaleigh Zietlow and
Sebastian Otero each earning #HLSD weekly awards for the second straight week.
Rariden earns his second career Swimmer of the Week after recording two individual first-place finishes with two pool records against Washington University. He won the 1000 free with a time of 9:26.59 and took first in the 500 free with a time of 4:32.85.
This marks the second career #HLSD Swimmer of the Week award for Rariden.
Zietlow, a senior from Hartland, Wisconsin collects the award after leading the women's swim team to a weekend win at Washington University with three individual wins, setting new pool records in all three events. She won the 200 free (1:49.99), 500 free (4:56.10) and the 200 IM (2:03.53) and helped win the 400 medley relay with a combined time of 3:49.94.
Zietlow has now been named Swimmer of the Week five times this season and a total of 13 times in her IU Indy career.
Sebastian Otero, a junior from Fishers, Indiana, continues to lead the Jaguars on the diving board, earning his sixth title of the season after sweeping the competition against Washington University. He took first in the 1-meter with a score of 329.90 and earned first in the 3-meter with a score of 350.02.
Otero now has six Diver of the Week awards this season and a collegiate career total of 18 weekly titles.
The IU Indy men's and women's swim and dive teams will next be in action on February 1 when they host Wabash and Butler at 12:00 PM.
