INDIANAPOLIS – Three Jags earn Horizon League Swim and Dive Athlete of the Week awards with
Logan Kelly and
Addy Hirsbrunner earning Swimmers of the Week while
Sebastian Otero takes Diver of the Week.
Logan Kelly was named #HLSD Swimmer of the Week after making his return to the pool this past weekend after missing the 2024-25 season. He didn't miss a beat as he broke the IU Indy program record in the 100 breast with a time of 51.56. He added another individual win and two relay wins to help lead the Jags to a weekend sweep over Cleveland State, Green Bay and Milwaukee. The grad student from Austin, Minnesota took the 200 breast title with a time of 1:55.75. He also helped win the 200 free relay and the 200 medley relay.
Kelly's career Swimmer of the Week award count is now up to seven with this week's award.
Addy Hirsbrunner earned #HLSD Women's Swimmer of the Week after collecting two individual wins and a relay win in IU Indy's wins over Cleveland State, Green Bay and Milwaukee. The sophomore from Oshkosh, Wisconsin won the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.28 and took the top time in the 400 IM with a time of 4:30.75. She also finished second in the 200 fly with a time of 2:08.58. Hirsbrunner helped the Jags to a 200 medley relay win as well.
This mark's Hirsbrunner's first career #HLSD Swimmer of the Week award.
Sebastian Otero once again led the Jags on the boards with a weekend sweep of the 1-meter and 3-meter events against Cleveland State. He took the 1-meter win with a score of 323.85 and won the 3-meter with a score of 387.25.
This is Otero's first weekly award of the season and brings his collegiate career total to 19 Diver of the Week awards.
The IU Indy swim and dive teams will be back in action on October 4 when they host the IU Indy Invite.
