BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - The IU Indianapolis men's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the 2024-25 campaign on Tuesday (Sept. 10) at the Bryan National Collegiate, hosted by UNCG. The Jaguars carded a final round 306 and finished tenth overall. Freshman
Daymian Rij, playing as an individual, carded an even par 72 on Tuesday and
Colten Girgis paced the Jaguars' lineup at 1-over 73.
Girgis finished the tournament tied for 22nd of 67 players at 4-over 220 (73-74-73) for the week while Rij tied for 26th at 221 (73-76-72). Junior
Noah Kirsch, also playing as an individual, ended his tournament at 222 (74-74-74), tied for 31st overall.
Girgis had three birdies on his final day and Rij made a pair of birdies and 14 pars for the day.
Sophomore
Brady Schier carded a final round 77 to close at 9-over 225 (74-74-77) and
Sam McWilliams finished at 8-over 224 (74-72-78).
Morgan Tournemire posted a countable round of 78 on Tuesday and
Titus Boswell closed with a round of 81.
Host UNCG earned the team title at 854, edging second-place Delaware by two shots and third-place Boston College by eight strokes. UNCG's Kelvin Hernandez collected medalist honors at 8-under 208 and BC's Markus Lam was second at 7-under 209.
The Jaguars will return to action this weekend when they compete at the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate, hosted by Oakland University on Sept. 14-15.
