Eric Petersen paced the team's four entries in the 5,000m event on Friday (Apr. 12) while freshman
Luke Shappell just missed his own school record in the 800m that evening.
On Saturday (Apr. 13), Shappell led IUPUI's three entries in the 1,500m event.
On Friday, Gits and Perkins opened up IUPUI's entries with time of 14:42.73 and 14:44.46 in the 5K, respectively. Petersen followed with a time of 14:12.60, missing his own school record by just more than a second. Whitinger clocked a time of 14:13.21, setting his own personal record by more than 20 seconds. Shappell ran an 800m time of 1:54.95, missing his school record by just more than a second.
The following day, Shappell paced three entries in the 1,500 with a personal best time of 3:50.47, placing 13th overall. Petersen ran 3:54.88 and Whitinger ran 3:55.63.
The Jaguars will continue their outdoor slate on Saturday, Apr. 27 when they compete at the RedHawk Invite in Oxford, Ohio.
