JAGUARS FINISH SEVENTH AT ZACH JOHNSON INVITATIONAL

IUPUI fires a final round 300 at Glen Oaks Country Club on Tuesday (Sept. 26)

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - The IUPUI men's golf team recorded a final round 300 at Glen Oaks Country Club on Tuesday (Sept. 26) and ultimately finished seventh of 13 teams at this week's Zach Johnson Invitational. The Jaguars closed the 54-hole tournament at 876 (294-282-300) for the week. 

Senior Taylor Gardner finished 20th overall at 3-over 216 (74-70-72) and was the Jaguars' low man on Tuesday. Freshman Titus Boswell closed at 5-over 218 (71-70-77) and Kevin Tillery shot 9-over 222 (75-72-75). No IUPUI player was able to break par on Tuesday as Gardner's 72 and Tillery's 75 led the way. Morgan Tournemire shot 5-over 76 and both Boswell and Harry Ward registered final rounds of 77. 

Gardner had a team-high four birdies on the tournament's final day, including back-to-back efforts on Nos. 4 and 5. Tournemire had three birdies and Boswell, Tillery and Ward had one apiece. 

Iowa State cruised to the team title at 829, beating second-place North Dakota State by eight strokes. ISU's Luke Gutschewski earned medalist honors at 15-under 198, finishing eight shots ahead of NDSU's Gavin Cronkhite.

IUPUI will return to action on Oct. 2-3 when the Jaguars compete at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational, hosted by Cleveland State.
