NORMAL, Ill. - The IUPUI women's golf team finished off this week's 2023 Redbird Invitational with a final round 299, moving up to a tenth-place finish among the 16-team field at 909 (302-308-299). Both
Madeleine Pape and
Annaliese Fox led the charge with final rounds of 74 and
Reagan Sohn carded 75.
Both
Shelby Busker and
Nerea Lancho shot 76 to round out the lineup. Busker paced the team for the week at 7-over 223 (74-73-76), tying for 19th among the 93-player field.
"The team started off pretty rough the first day, but finished with a solid last round," Pape said. "It was the first tournament of the season and we have a talented group of players. There's a lot to look forward to and work towards."
Pape had a pair of birdies on her scorecard to go along with 12 pars in her final round. Meanwhile, Fox had three birdies in her final round and Sohn had four, including three-in-a-row on the front nine.
Sophomore
Yanah Rolston rounded out IUPUI's entries with a tournament score of 247 (76-88-83) while playing as an individual.
Bradley captured the team title at 1-over 865 for the week while host Illinois State was second at 866. Bradley's Grace Aromando earned medalist honors at 16-under 200 (67-67-66) and ISU's Jinyoung Yun was second at 204.
IUPUI will be back in action on Sept. 18-19 when they participate in the Brittany Kelly Classic at The Players Club at Woodland Trails.
