NORMAL, Ill. - The IUPUI women's golf team opened play at this week's 2023 Redbird Invitational at Illinois State's Weibring Golf Course with rounds of 302 and 308 on Sunday (Sept. 10). The Jaguars sit 11th of 16 teams at 610 (302-308) going into Monday's finale. 

Host Illinois State leads the field at 577 and is one shot ahead of second-place Bradley's 578. Bradley's Grace Aromando shot 10-under 134 on Sunday and holds a three-shot lead over ISU's Jinyoung Yun. 

Senior Shelby Busker carded rounds of 74 and 73 to lead the Jaguars on day one and is tied for 13th among the 93-player field. Busker ended her day with seven birdies, including making birdie on the short, par-3 No. 17 and long, par-5 No. 18 in both rounds. 

"It was a fun day with beautiful weather," Busker said. "We just had to keep grinding it out."

Madeleine Pape sits at 152 (77-75) and is tied for 42nd while Reagan Sohn shot 155 (74-81). Pape registered six birdies while Sohn made five. 

Senior Annaliese Fox ended her day at 158 (79-79) and junior Nerea Lancho shot 163 (77-86). Sophomore Yanah Rolston closed her day at 164 (76-88) while playing as an individual. 

Fox turned in a team-high 23 pars for the day. 

Teams will resume play on Monday (Sept. 11), beginning with an 8:30 a.m. CST shotgun start.
