MUNCIE, Ind. - IUPUI senior men's golfer
Josh Yoder made the first hole-in-one of his lifetime at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 9), highlighting the Jaguars' efforts on day one of the two-day event. Collectively, IUPUI carded rounds of 303 and 297 and is tied for fourth among the 10-team field at 600 heading into Sunday's finale.
Kevin Tillery was the team's low man on Saturday with rounds of 77 and 71 and is tied for 19th among the 76-player field.
Taylor Gardner shot scores of 75 and 76 and
Morgan Tournemire shot 71 and 81.
Colten Girgis shot an opening round 80, followed by 75 in the day's second round, while Yoder notched rounds of 81 and 75.
Yoder's ace came with a pitching wedge on the par-3, 127-yard No. 14, nearing the end of the day.
Tillery had a hot stretch of three birdies in a five-hole span midway through his second round, vaulting him up inside the field's top-20.
Sophomore
Harry Ward posted back-to-back rounds of 75 while playing as the Jaguars' individual entry. He sits tied for 28th overall moving into Sunday's final.
Butler leads the team standings at 576 (291-285), six shots clear of host Ball State. BSU's Carter Smith leads the individual leaderboard at even par 140.
The Jaguars will begin the final round with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun on Sunday (Sept. 10).
