YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The IUPUI men's track team had a short list of entrants competing at the #HLTF Outdoor Championships on Saturday (May 6), but still had a slew of solid performances on day two of the league championships.
The team's top performances came from the 400m specialists as sophomore
James Kuisel and freshman
Jaylon Cooper both narrowly missed earning spots in Sunday's finals. Kuisel spun a personal best time of 49.59 and finished ninth overall, just outside the eight qualifiers for the finals. Cooper followed with a time of 49.62, placing tenth.
In the 800m event,
Alex Alba was 13th overall in the prelims with a personal best time of 1:56.80 while
Mason Wolfe also clocked a personal best time, crossing at 1:56.89. Freshman
Connor Hamilton also ran a personal best time, closing his race at 2:02.98.
Despite not adding to its point total on Saturday, the men's team finished the day in fifth place with 15 points. The Jaguars will close out the three-day meet on Sunday.
