TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Five members of the IUPUI men's track team set new personal bests on Saturday (Apr. 15) as the Jaguars closed out efforts at this week's Gibson Invitational, hosted by Indiana State. Three members of the team had new personal bests in the 400m event while two others set new personal bests in the 800. A sixth, Jaylon Cooper, had a personal best effort in the 200m event denied as his time was wind aided. 

In the 400, Alex Parkhurst led the IUPUI entries with a time of 52.05 and Mason Wolfe crossed at 52.91. Connor Hamilton spun a time of 53.93 to round out IUPUI's entries. 

In the 800m event, Alex Alba had a personal best time of 2:00.26, taking more than a full second off his prior best. Keith Bye ran a time of 2:01.91 and freshman Joseph Blagrave registered a time of 2:03.29. 

Freshman Jaylon Cooper went under the IUPUI school record in the 200m event, but his time of 22.44 was wind aided. James Kuisel recorded a time of 22.69 at the same distance. Earlier in the day, Solomon Barket was the team's lone finisher in the 1,500m event with a time of 4:27.34. 

The Jaguars will return to action on Apr. 28-29 at the RedHawk Invitational in Oxford, Ohio.
