INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team is set to host Dayton on Friday for a 5:00 PM match then travel to Muncie to face Ball State on Saturday at 1:00 PM. The Jags are currently 1-10 on the year.
The Jags have won the doubles point in two of their last three matches with
Tom Ciszewski and
Alex Jochim winning at the number one spot and
Blessing Benibo and
Colton Morehart sealing the point at the number three doubles spot. After taking an early lead, the Jags have struggled to capitalize in singles play.
Dayton enters the weekend, 7-6 with wins over Purdue, Youngstown State and Lipscomb. Senior Matt DeMarco leads the Flyers, winning four straight singles matches while Connor Bruce has won his last three in the number one singles spot. Together, DeMarco and Bruce have won six of the last ten doubles matches.
Ball State enters the weekend 7-3 with wins over Butler, Purdue, Xavier and Dayton. The Cardinals swept the MAC weekly honors with sophomore Nathaniel Webster earning singles player of the week and the partnership of Eli Herran and Jacks Lancaster were named doubles team of the week.
The Jags will look for their second win as they host Dayton on Friday, February 24 at 5:00 PM then travel to Muncie on Saturday, February 25 for a 1:00 PM tip.
