INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's basketball team looks to jump back into the win column when they host the Marquette Golden Eagles on Wednesday, November 15 in the Jungle. Tipoff will be at 7:00 PM on ESPN+.

The Jags are coming off a loss at No. 7 Ohio State where they fell to 1-1 on the season. Marquette enters the game, 2-0 with wins over UT-Martin (84-51) and No. 23 Illinois (71-67).

Katie Davidson made her IUPUI debut this past weekend in a loud way. The junior transfer from Miami (Ohio) sat out last season for personal reasons but made her presence known with 32 points and seven rebounds in the season opener against Eastern Illinois. She followed that performance with 23 points and five rebounds at No. 7 Ohio State.

Graduate student Jazmyn Turner recorded a double-double in the opening game of the season with 19 points and 17 rebounds. She totaled seven points and two rebounds before suffering an injury in the first quarter at Ohio State. Turner was named to the #HLWBB Preseason All-League First Team after averaging a team-high 14.9 points with a second-best 5.8 rebounds per game this past season.

Head Coach Kate Bruce enters her second season with the Jaguars with a new face joining the squad. Bruce's staff of Johnny Montello, Kortney Dunbar, China Dow and Hannah Blake added a video coordinator during the offseason with Morgan McMillen. McMillen previously played for Coach Bruce at Walsh University.

IUPUI returns just four players from the 2022-23 season: Jaci Jones, Logan Lewis, Turner and Abby Wolterman. Head coach Bruce added a strong recruiting class with freshman Kace Urlacher, Alexa Hocevar, Azyah Newson-Cole, Kaylin Moorehead and Brooklyn Stubblefield. The Jags added several from the transfer portal as well including sophomore Faith Stinson, juniors Camron Blank and Davidson and graduates Tahlia Walton and Jaela Johnson.

Coach Bruce's squad is looking to hunt their way through the Horizon League standings this season as they were picked to finish ninth of 11 teams in the conference, according to the league's coaches. IUPUI finished third in the regular season standings during the 2022-23 season with a 13-7 record. The Jags entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed and were shocked in the quarterfinal round by the No. 6 seed Purdue Fort Wayne.

Tipoff for Wednesday's game is set for 7:00 PM on ESPN+.
