INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's and women's track and field teams will be back in action this weekend when the Jaguars compete at the Tom Hathaway Challenge, hosted by the University of Indianapolis. The two-day meet will begin with multis on Friday (Jan. 27) at 11:00 a.m. and will also have combined events on Saturday. Field events will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Running events will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday night and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On the men's side, head coach Justin Roeder's team debuted last week at Bellarmine and will look to build upon some impressive starts. Freshman Jaylon Cooper ran a 400m time of 51.36 in his collegiate debut and will look to shed time, running both the 400m and 200m events this weekend. In the mile, Keith Bye highlights the Jaguars' entries, having run 4:23.40 at Bellarmine while freshman Deion Guise is expected to make his track debut in the event on Friday. Awaal Adedokun is also slated to compete on Friday while Cooper, James Kuisel and Mason Wolfe key IUPUI's Saturday entries.

Kuisel ran an 800m time of 1:58.28 at Bellarmine while Wolfe, a Purdue-transfer, ran 1:58.34.

On the women's side, a full roster of Jaguars are set for competition over two days.

Sophomore Katie Moore and freshman Morgan Hoard will compete in their second collegiate pentathlons while freshman standout Modupe Awosanya is slated for the long jump, 60m dash and 200m dash over two days. Awosanya already owns school records in the 60 (7.74) and long jump (6.03m) in her rookie campaign. Fellow freshman Jada-Marie Davis will take aim at her own school record in the high jump (1.60m), while also competing in the 60m hurdles and 200m dash. A third jumper, Reese McCuan, will look to break her own school record in the triple jump (11.26m) on Saturday after competing in the long jump on Friday.

Freshman Kyla Kante will also look to lower her own school record in the 60m hurdles after having run 8.96 earlier this season.

Sophia Taylor tops the team's entries in the mile, having run 5:14.51 earlier this season while Karis Davis is the team's top entry in the 400m at 59.81. Six Jaguars are slated for the 5K to end Friday's events, led by Madison Fry's 18:25.49 from early December.
